Travel Insurance

It is better to have travel insurance and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Each year, GLA sees student's cancel for various reasons. Whatever they are though, some or all of your tuition and airfare may not be refundable. A travel insurance policy will protect your investment in a GLA program should you need to cancel for a covered reason.

Why do I need travel insurance?

Travel Insurance is not required. Your GLA tuition does include emergency evacuation assistance and secondary medical coverage during your program. However, there are a number of other things that can occur that you are not protected from without travel insurance, such as:

Where do I buy travel insurance?

You can purchase travel insurance online or through a travel agency. We have vetted many policies and recommend either battleface or Arch RoamRight

What if I need to cancel but it's not due to illness or injury?

When you apply for a GLA program, we recommended that you purchase a travel insurance policy at the same time. Doing so will typically allow you to include an extra coverage options called Cancel for Any Reason.  We highly recommend this coverage during times of uncertainty.

Note: Due to individual state laws, Cancel for Any Reason insurance is not available for residents of New York.

Can I buy travel insurance before I buy airfare?

Yes and it is recommended that you do so!

When you apply for a GLA program, you must wait to become enrolled before you can purchase airfare (we will advise you when to do this). You should purchase your travel insurance policy when you place your deposit and use the GLA tuition plus a flight estimate as the "trip cost".  This way, if you decide to upgrade your policy to "cancel for any reason" you will be covered for the full amount you wish to be reimbursed.

By purchasing your travel insurance policy when you apply for a GLA program, you are giving yourself the option to add on cancel for any reason as well as other benefits that come with purchasing a policy within 14 days of placing your deposit.
