Unaccompanied Minors

Wil you be 14 years old or younger at the time of your GLA program?

Did you answer yes? If so, read on!

What is an unaccompanied minor?

An unaccompanied minor is someone who is 14 years of age and younger that travels without the presence of a parent, legal guardian or someone who is at least 18 years of age.

How does this effect me?

In addition to purchasing a mandatory chaperone service. Unaccompanied minors must book their flights according to the airline's policy. These policies include but are not limited to;

  • which airlines you can use
  • how many connections you can make
  • the routing of the flight/s
  • what time you can fly

I don't want to be chaperoned on my flight, can I fly alone?

Unfortunately, these policies are enforced by the airline. Therefore you must travel as an unaccompanied minor if you meet the criteria. That being said though, airlines do have dramatically varying policies, so what goes for one, does not necessarily go for the other. Contact our travel agency partners to see which airlines require this service and which do not.

I am over 14, can I still travel as an unaccompanied minor?

Yes! You can still add on this service if you wish to be chaperoned on your flights. If you choose to add this service on, you must book your flights per the airline's unaccompanied minor policy.
